The Australasian
Natural Hazards Management Conference
The Australasian Hazards Management Conference is run
annually, alternating between locations in New Zealand and Australia.
The conference provides a forum to discuss the integration of hazard information into effective risk management, including:
o Applying hazard information to best practice planning
o Developing effective warning systems
o Improved response and recovery from events
o Creating resilient communities through integrating science into practice
Our target audience is: Emergency managers, planners, risk assessors, asset and utility managers, natural hazards researchers and scientists.
The last conference was
held on the Gold Coast of Australia, 18-21 July 2011. For information on our 2011 conference, please visit

The next Australasian Hazards Management Conference will be held on 20-24 August 2012, University of Canterbury, Christchurch.
